What is the Google penguin Update?

As all of us know that Google wants to remove the web spam out of the searches so they have just launched a new update after Google panda and named that update as Google penguin update !

This Update hits only those websites who are using some unethical methods to get the website on top of search engines. This update gives penalty to those websites who are using following methods to rank in search engines :

• Paid links !
• Link Exchange !
• Spam methods to get the links.
• Same use of anchor text in all links.
• Too much exact match keywords in links.
•  Private paid blog networks like ALN and BMR and many more !

Mainly this update is made to remove those websites who are using paid links !

This update was launched on 24 April 2012 so if you have seen a big drop of traffic around this date and losing all the rankings for big keywords then you fall under penguin update. Google has stringent quality guidelines which almost anyone and everyone are aware of.

Keyword stuffing !

The Google penguin update was developed to try and squelch those pages that were apparently keyword stuffed, or cloaked in ways that did not meet the rules and structured format laid out by Google itself.  Pages that spam, or again, ‘keyword stuff’ are not the best alternatives to gain any form of recognition through Google; and now, with this update, those who were and are still following the traditional SEO strategies, undoubtedly wont be able to see day light on the Google search engine again; at least for a while they won’t.  Quite logically, some of this so called ‘keyword stuffing’ is being carried out totally accidentally, and it is taking place with those who are new to promoting a website and its content.  For years, search engines led many to believe the best way to get visibility for their site was to have keywords embedded in that content so that they would gain excellent ranking through multiple search engines.  So, most web content developers have had writing carried out that is loaded with key wording.  The correct way to do the key wording, without worry of being penalized by Google, or being hit by the update is to just keep the keywords down to 2 per a paragraph.  This keeps it clean and simple, something that Google really likes.

Every one says that Content is king few days back and even Matt Cutts also explain the importance of Quality content on your website many times so now the time has come to implement those saying in real life. Google penguin update also had an impact on those that had very low quality content on their site.  Google doesn’t favor unworthy content, the same as it doesn’t like content that has hidden material, or that is stuffed with key wording either.  You have to do it right, and sometimes this takes a lot of practice, but it can be done.

Every one should ask from Google that what is the relation ship between Viagra and Education websites???¿

This keyword has a lot of searches per month and a lot of sales but can you see Viagra official website any where ? Then i thought that i should tweet to Matt Cutts at least once and i should tell him that what he is doing with Google new Algorithm.  In the mean while i checked Bing and other search engines and they look quite well rather then Google. Bing and yahoo has more better results for the keyword Viagra!

After look at these results, I just keep on searching some good keywords and then i got one more error in search results !

Whats going on with keyword “new shoes” ?

OMG ! Can you see the video songs in the top for the keyword New shoes ?? This is the worst results i have ever seen, A person who is going to search new shoes will definitely looking for some kind of new shoes pictures or in the mood off purchasing some new shoes and what Google shoes in top to all the users ? This is really weird!

They are too many results which have this kind of worse results, Should we start moving to bing ?

Recovery Methods

These are few basic methods to Recover your websites!

• Remove spam links
• Remove all the exact match anchor text links
• Contact web masters and ask them to remove your links
• Remove BMR and ALN links
• Remove paid links
• stop using link exchange !

Analyze what’s wrong with you ?

There are numerous ways that you can counter the Google penguin update and recover from it.   It all depends upon what the cause to your penalization stemmed from.  If it was due to unnatural linking, then your job would be to clean out those spammy links that aren’t relevant.  If you paid for links, then again, find a way to get rid of them.  One thing is definitely for certain.  It has been found to be much harder to rid yourself of links to other websites that are similar to yours than it was to gain access to linking with them.  Your goal should be to make sure you carry out links that are worthwhile and credible from this point on.

Over optimization penalty could be there as well with the penalty of Google penguin update. Matt cutts has already warned that Google over optimization penalty is live and they will be catching all those websites who are stuffed with keywords in Meta tags, Text and footers.

The Google penguin update had a goal, and that was to spread the message that there needs to be an improved understanding of SEO and how to implement it into a website.  If you can’t learn these basic skills then you will always be in jeopardy of having your content banned or penalized from the Google search engine.  This definitely wasn’t the first update that is going to take place, and it certainly won’t be the last.  What really matters for web content today is in regard to gaining material that is worthwhile and actually relevant to the niche it is trying to fulfill.  If you’re material is only mid-grade, then you’re going to be bumped, regardless.  You have to use viable and sustainable methods that are going to work with Google’s new changes.  While the Google penguin update had been to get rid of spam, it created a lot of hardship for many web business owners.  A great number saw their rankings totally disappear from Google altogether.

Yes, SEO has improved now and only those websites will survive who are using white hat methods and quality methods to rank websites. Furthermore, the best way to view linking is through a political eye.  When you have something valuable and worthwhile to say, then it should be clear that you’ll be linked too.  If you’re only gaining links through paying for them, or through some other means that isn’t totally reputable, Google will consider this as a manipulative way of attempting to gain page ranking.  It simply isn’t going to work.  The only way is through natural linking, and this is going to be preached time and time again until it is embedded in all website masters’ minds.  You can’t fool Google, bottom line.
