The Google Panda Update was precise and fierce, reducing some websites ranking and prestige to mere rubble in its wake. It was targeting those websites who were found to have extremely low quality content on their website. Some webmasters didn’t even appear to take the time to prepare for the update, even though they knew it was coming. Google Panda made certain to deflate the bubbles of many websites who thought that they could secure high ranks through using spamming techniques, or just poor back-linking quality in general. Some of these web owners tried to make the excuse that simply because they’d seen their competition performing these spam links, they assumed it was safe for them to do so too. Absolutely not the case, webmasters were warned ahead of time, and Google Panda was no joke. If websites could only present themselves with very poor quality content, and then no high volume links anywhere, they were doomed from the get go. They have also made the Google penguin update to remove those websites from the search results who are using low quality link profile and exact match anchor text in quantity.

Google’s Farmer/Panda Update: Analysis of Winners vs. Losers
Learning the Lesson
Actually surviving and recovering from the update is another story entirely, because several factors have to be taken into consideration. If you’re one of the ones that didn’t get plummeted by the Google update, then it might not take you as long to get your site prioritized in the right way. If you happen to be one of those unlucky few who had everything going against them, then it could take you quite some time to get back on your feet again. However, this should have taught many web owners a valuable lesson; and that is that you can’t cheat your way to the top of Google. While it is hard for some to digest, because they lost practically all of their reputation and backing—it is still a lesson learned. Now webmasters should be aware of what it will take to build an honest and dedicated reputation on Google. There are several things to look at when configuring your website to keep it from the direct line of fire from the Google Panda Update.
How to Avoid the Backlash of the Google Panda Update
There are a number of ways to survive this update, and the majority of them truly are common sense ways of making it through and actually improving your website 100%, so you won’t have to worry about the same thing happening again. Ensure that you don’t link your site with other sites that are described in the bullet-ed area here, unless they have been updated and corrected:
Quality
Ensure that the content has excellent quality: You don’t want to have content that is just fluff and bogus floating around on your pages. There aren’t any visitors to be gained by material that can be found anywhere and everywhere, and isn’t even backed up by fact or creativity. Take the time to guarantee your specific content is unique and engaging, so guests will enjoy reading it.
Decrease bounce rate
Enhance the visitors’ experience: One of the major problems which the Google Panda Update did fish out was related to the pings back and forth from a website. If a visitor were to find your website, and then not even stay there 10 minutes, returning right back to the Google search engine for something better, then this definitely raises a red flag and makes a site vulnerable to the update.
Remove above the fold ads
Ad Flooding is non-productive and warrants the speedy punishment of Google Panda: You don’t want to link and affiliate yourself with a site that has tons of ads. While this was, at one time, the pitch of Google itself, to fill your site with Adword ads, and Adsense, not everyone sees eye to eye about it. So, if you can disengage your site from one of those who was penalized (which affected you too) then that would be one of the best ways to provide imminent damage control for your own website.
Best SEO Tips to Undermine the Update and Improve Your Website
The tips here are reliable and seem to be effective in helping get many websites back on their feet again. For those website owners who didn’t bruise that badly, following these SEO tips could benefit you in the long run, and keep you from taking a sudden nose dive in the wrong direction.
- Quality content having keyword density not more then 2-3%.
- Submit your website to online directories such as Yahoo, DMOZ, Best of the Web, and Starting Point. These appear to be favored by Google. The only one of these which is a free service is DMOZ, but it can be hard to gain approval through them. Starting Point was the cheapest directory, coming in at $99.00 for an annual feel. While you don’t have to submit to all of them, choosing at least one is a good SEO strategy
- Social Media Marketing is the Wave of the Future: Google loves websites that have an identifying footprint in the social media world. So, you should focus on some strong campaigns in this area to promote your website. The main thing is that you don’t really need to be talking about what your business can do; Google wants to see what other people think, so you need to really get out there and gain notice!
- Definitely don’t rely too heavy on back linking any longer. Google has stopped using a specific link analysis tool, according to research that has been carried out by many SEO experts. You need to promote yourself more so with world class quality content and a friendly presence that visitors will find appealing.
The main goal of any website, in order to gain a nice ranking and maintain it is to ensure that everything you’re doing is of the best quality. If you’re a website owner who is taking the time to improve upon your website, and who isn’t spam linking, or providing non worthy information, but rather working hard to spread the word about your business through social media avenues, submission directories, and constant fresh content, then you’re good to go and should have nothing to worry about but your competition. Its dog eat dog out on the internet, and hopefully these various tips will help you progress towards success now, and for the future.

Yes you are right that Google shows results above the fold in search engines , You may have listen ” Might is right”, this is the case here.
They tend to stop others to do the same thing so that they can use that technique for them self.
Have you ever thought that why Google is making new updates each and every other day?? Why they have been making updates like Panda and Penguin?
They usually say that we want to remove spam from search engines but what is the reason behind it ?
look, Only big companies go for Search engine optimization on large scale as they need traffic to get earning. When the big companies are doing SEO, there may be a chance they will hit by penguin update and in this way, they will loose all traffic. Those companies have seen the income from targeted traffic from search engines so when they hit by penguin update, They will not suffer loose and will use Google Adwords to get traffic. Yeah they will pay to Google to get traffic.
This is how Google is getting business and thats why they are updating each and every month !
Thanks
Saif
